WARNING: A leaking or damaged fuel
connector could cause a fire causing
burn injuries to the rider and technician.
To minimise the risk of fuel leaks, always replace
any suspect fuel connectors.
Assembly
1.
Fit the connectors to the mounting plate and
tighten to 5 Nm.
CAUTION: The connectors will be
A
damaged if the specified torque is
exceeded. Do not overtighten the connectors.
2.
Refit the fuel tank as described elsewhere in this
section.
3.
Refill the fuel tank with the fuel drained earlier.
4.
Reconnect the battery, positive (red) lead first.
Refit the seat.

FUEL PRESSURE CHECKING

Using Triumph service tool T3880048, allows diagnosis
of fuel pump, fuel pressure relief valve and hose related
problems without first removing the component
concerned.

Test Procedure
1.
In order to connect the gauge, turn the ignition to
the OFF position and remove the motorcycle side
panel assembly.
CAUTION: Never turn the ignition on with
either fuel hose disconnected as this will
by—pass the fuel pressure regulator and cause
excess pressure in the system.
2.
Disconnect either of the fuel hoses and connect
the gauge between the detached hose and the
fuel pump mounting plate.
Turn the ignition to the ON position and check the

gauge reading.
NOTE:
If correct, the fuel pressure should be 3.0 Bar +1-
0.25 Bar.
If a higher or lower fuel pressure reading is
shown on the gauge, refer to the non —electrical
diagnosis table earlier in this section.
