Warning:
Do not install equipment that appears to be damaged.
Impedance panels are required in all empty slots to prevent excess dust accumulation
and to help control airflow and electromagnetic interference. Impedance panels do not
have board components or connector pins.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage can occur if components are mishandled.
Always wear an ESD-preventive wrist or ankle strap and always connect an ESD strap
to the grounding plug on the front of the chassis.
Note:
When replacing an IOM-a, ports, MDA-a, and card parameters must be shut down.
All 7750 SR-a routers require at least one IOM-a.
When removing an IOM-a, always use the ejector levers to make sure that the
connector pins disconnect from the backplane.
Removing an IOM-a module will not cause the system to shut down. If you are not
immediately installing a replacement IOM-a module, insert an impedance panel in the
empty slot.
