Camshaft sprocket bolt
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf, 14 ft·lbf)
ECA19980
NOTICE
Be sure to tighten the camshaft sprocket
bolts to the specified torque to avoid the
possibility of the bolts coming loose and
damaging the engine.
TIP
• Install the camshaft sprockets so that cam lobe
#1 "a" and cam lobe #2 "b" are positioned as
shown in the illustration.
• Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts with the
rotor holding tool "3". Tighten the camshaft
sprocket bolt identified by the round mark "c"
on each camshaft sprocket first.

3. Install:
• Timing chain "1"
(onto the camshaft sprockets "2")
• Exhaust camshaft "3"
• Intake camshaft "4"

TIP
The exhaust camshaft is identified by the groove
"a" in the portion of the camshaft shown in the il-
lustration.

a. Install the timing chain onto the exhaust cam-
shaft sprocket, and then install the exhaust
camshaft onto the cylinder head.
TIP
Align the alignment mark "b" on the exhaust
camshaft sprocket with the edge "c" of the cylin-
der head as shown in the illustration.

b. Install the timing chain onto the intake cam-
shaft sprocket, and then install the intake
camshaft onto the cylinder head.
TIP
• Align the alignment mark "d" on the intake
camshaft sprocket with the edge "e" of the cyl-
inder head as shown in the illustration.
• Be sure to install the timing chain so that the
exhaust side of the chain is taut and the intake
side is slack.
