• Align the mating surfaces of the front brake
master cylinder holder with the punch mark "b"
on the handlebar (right), or install the front
brake master cylinder so that the distance "c"
between the bottom of the handlebar (right)
and the bottom of the front brake master cylin-
der is 11 mm (0.43 in) as shown in the illustra-
tion.
• First, tighten the upper bolt, then tighten the
lower bolt.

• Throttle grip "1"
• Throttle cables
• Handlebar switch (right) "2"

1.5 Nm (0.15 m·kgf, 1.1 ft·lbf)
Throttle cable guide screw (han-
dlebar side)
2.5 Nm (0.25 m·kgf, 1.8 ft·lbf)
TIP
• Lubricate the inside of the throttle grip with a
thin coat of lithium-soap-based grease and in-
stall it onto the handlebar.
• Route the throttle cables through the slots in
the throttle grip, and then install the cables.
• Align the projection "a" on the right handlebar
switch with the hole "b" on the right handlebar.
• First, tighten the front screw, then tighten the
rear screw.

9. Install:
• Grip end (right) "1"
Grip end bolt
7 Nm (0.7 m·kgf, 5.1 ft·lbf)
TIP
• Align the projection "a" on the grip end with the
slot "b" in the handlebar weight.
• While holding the grip end, tighten the grip end
bolt.
• There should be 1–5 mm (0.04–0.20 in) of
clearance "c" between the throttle grip and the
right grip end.

10.Check:
• Cable routing
TIP
Make sure the main switch lead, brake hose,
throttle cables, clutch cable, and handlebar
switch leads are routed properly. Refer to "CA-
BLE ROUTING" on page 2-35.
