7.1 Troubleshooting
Problem
1 The FELCOM 70 CU power
indicator does not light up.
2 The ISDN Handset display
stays completely black.
3 FELCOM 70 cannot find the
satellite.
4 FELCOM 70 functions
abnormally.
CU: Communication Unit
Probable cause
The CU is not switched
ON.
Power is not connected.
The handset cord is not
connected, damaged, or
enumerating failed.
No or weak signals
Faulty or no power
Action
• Toggle the ON/OFF switch
to ON.
• Switch off, wait 10 secs and
switch back on.
• Check that the power cord
is properly connected.
• Check that the handset cord
is properly connected and
inspect the cord.
• Power CU off/on.
• Disconnect cord from CU
and connect it again.
• Check for correct position of
the antenna. Check that no
obstacles block the free
sight to the satellite.
• The signal strength indicator
should preferably exceed
550.
• Check that the coax cable is
connected properly.
• Restart the search for any
satellite, or try a satellite in a
specific Ocean Region.
• Turn off power and
disconnect power cable.
• Connect power cable, and
switch on again.
• Replace fuses, if needed,
located near the power
switch.
• Verify correct voltages to the
CU: 100-240V AC.
