E DIGITAL OPTICAL IN jack**
Use a digital optical cable (square, not supplied)
to connect an optional digital component (digital
satellite tuner, etc.) to this jack. You can then
record or listen to the sound from the
component.
F DIGITAL OPTICAL OUT jack
Use a digital optical cable (square, not supplied)
to connect an amplifier, MD deck, or DAT deck
with a digital optical input jack. Sound is then
output when the system function is set to DVD
or MD. By connecting this system to the optical
input jack of the optional amplifier equipped
with Dolby Digital or DTS decoder, you can
enjoy the 5.1 channel sound. If the jack is
covered with a cap, remove it before use.
* Video signals are only output when the system
function is set to DVD.
** Set PCM to 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. (Optical
input uses PCM only.)
