Notes
• If you use the recording timer and the Sleep Timer at
the same time, the Sleep Timer has priority.
• The system turns on 30 seconds before the preset
time. Do not operate the system from the time the
system turns on until the play starts.
• If the system is on 30 seconds before the preset time,
the recording timer will not be activated.
• The volume is reduced to minimum during
recording.
• When you record on an MD, if recording timer is set
with the Group Function on but no group is specified,
the material is recorded into a new group.
Tips
• When you record from the radio, the station name (or
the frequency when the station is not labelled
(page 65)) is recorded on an MD together with the
start time and the stop time.
• If you start editing an MD with the lid closed,
"OPEN" blinks in the front panel display. Open the
lid and confirm the displayed message before
proceeding.

Turning off the display

— Power Saving Mode

The clock display can be turned off to minimize
the amount of power consumed during standby
(Power Saving Mode).
Press DISPLAY on the unit repeatedly while
the system is off until the clock display
disappears.
To cancel Power Saving Mode
Press DISPLAY on the unit while the system is
off. Each time you press the button, the display
switches cyclically as follows:
Clock display* t No display (Power Saving
Mode)
* "– –:– –" appears if you have not set the clock.
Tip
The timer continues to operate in Power Saving Mode.
