Verify
This menu allows settings to be made for comparing new netmaps with netmaps made on
previous occasions, to discover any changes that have occurred in the network.
1.
Select the menu point "Verify".
2. Set the desired Comparison Map.
3. Save the entry made with Apply. You can exit the menu without saving the
changes with Escape.
Loop
This menu allows settings to be made for the loop test for use together with a network
transmission tester (eg UniPRO MGig1)
1.
Select the menu point "Loop".
2. Set the desired option of Loopback Type and All Traffic.
Option
Description
Every bit received is immediately re-transmitted to its source even if there are
Wireline
errors. Can only be used over a copper or optical cable, not through active network
elements.
Errored frames are dropped. All good frames are re-transmitted back to the source
MAC
by swapping the Source and Destination MAC address in the re-transmitted frame.
Can be used over a cable or a switched network.
Errored frames are dropped. All good frames are re-transmitted back to the source
IP
by swapping the Source and Destination MAC and IP addresses in the re-
transmitted frame. Can be used over a cable or a switched or routed network.
Errored frames are dropped. All good frames are re-transmitted back to the source
UDP
by swapping the Source and Destination MAC and IP addresses and the UDP port
numbers in the re-transmitted frame. Can be used over all types of network.
Select the tick-box to loop all received frames whether they are addressed to the
All Traffic
tester or not. De-select to loop only frames addressed to the tester's IP address
3. Save the entry made with Apply. You can exit the menu without saving the
changes with Escape.
Conflicts
This menu allows settings to be made for the Conflicts test which detects if more than one
host in a network is using the same IP address.
1.
Select the menu point "Conflicts".
2. Set the desired option of Local Network
(scans the address space around the tester's
own IP address for conflicts), or Custom
Network (scans a network defined by the
settings made to Target IP and Range.
3. Save the entry made with Apply. You can exit
the menu without saving the changes with
Escape.
