MEASURING THE COMPRESSION PRESSURE/

CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL

Refer to the following table.
Compression pressure
(with oil applied into the cylinder)
Reading
Higher than
without oil
Same as without oil
10. Install:
S spark plug
11. Connect:
S spark plug cap
12. Remove:
S camshaft sprocket cover
Refer to "ROCKER ARMS, PUSH RODS
AND VALVE LIFTERS".
13. Install:
S decompression solenoid
Refer to "CAMSHAFTS".
S camshaft sprocket cover
Refer to "ROCKER ARMS, PUSH RODS
AND VALVE LIFTERS".
14. Install:
S fuel tank
S rider seat
Refer to "FUEL TANK" and "SEATS AND
SIDE COVERS".

CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL
1. Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
NOTE:
S Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand.
S Make sure the motorcycle is upright.
2. Start the engine and warm it up by running
the engine or letting the engine run at idle for
15 minutes until the engine oil inside of the oil
tank has reached a temperature of 60_C and
then turn it off.

Piston wear or
damage ! Repair.

defective ! Repair.
