Auto decompression mechanism
The auto decompression mechanism occurs when the engine is started. When the engine is started
the decompression cam and pin raise the exhaust valve lifters, push the push rods, move the rocker
arms, and lower the exhaust valves which compress the cylinder. When the cylinder is compressed,
pressure is released immediately, resulting in smoother engine starting capabilities and smoother
crankshaft revolutions.
