CHECKING THE SHIFT SHAFT

1. Check:
S shift shaft 1
Bends/damage/wear ! Replace.
S shift lever spring 2
Damage/wear ! Replace.

CHECKING THE STOPPER LEVER

1. Check:
S stopper lever 1
Bends/damage ! Replace.
Roller turns roughly ! Replace the stopper
lever.

INSTALLING THE STOPPER LEVEL AND
SHIFT SHAFT
1. Install:
S stopper lever 1
S stopper lever spring 2
NOTE:
S Apply locking agent (LOCTITE ) to the
threads of stopper lever bolt.
S Install the ends of the stopper lever spring onto
the stopper lever and the crankcase boss 3 .
S Mesh the stopper lever with the shift drum seg-
ment assembly.
2. Install:
S lock washer 1
S shift shaft spring stopper 2
NOTE:
Apply locking agent (LOCTITE ) to the threads
of shift shaft spring stopper.
3. Bend the lock washer tab along a flat side of
the shift shaft spring stopper.
