AIS System Setup
Automatic Identifaction System
Prior to using the MX420/AIS CDD, it is necessary to configure the two AIS menus
under the CFG key, namely:
• AIS Static
• AlSVoyage
To access the two AIS configuration setups, follow the procedures below.
Configuring the AIS Static Setup
The AIS Static Setup contains both the ship's static data and AIS transponder
configuration. This setup must be done after installation or at any time changes
are made to the ship's AIS transponder unit.
It
is important to note that critical AIS static setup items associated with the AIS
transponder are password protected. Setup items that require administrator pass-
word are indicated in the Display Field Descriptions below. If an invalid or
missing password is used, an 'AIS Alarm' is displayed and the entry will be
rejected. Press the 'Cancel alarm' softkey to continue.
Follow the procedure below to enter the required AIS static information:
1.
Press CFG key.
2.
Highlight the AlS Static under the 'Item' column.
