Installing the Edge Switch in a 9000, 10000, or 11000 series rack

NOTE: If you are installing an Edge Switch 2/32 in an HP 9000 series, 10000 series, or 11000
series rack, you must install the switch from the rear of the rack

Mounting the adjustable brackets in a 9000, 10000, or 11000 series rack

Tools and test equipment required:
• One #2 Phillips screwdriver
• Six 10-32 panhead screws (supplied in the kit).
To install the the adjustable brackets on the rack:
1. Orient the switch at the rear of the rack.
This allows for extra space in front of the switch, for cable routing.
NOTE:

slide) is toward the rear of the rack

3. Adjust the lengths of the brackets to fit the rack.
4. Set aside four 10-32 screws from the rack kit for securing the ear brackets to the rails after the
switch is installed.
5. If you are installing the Edge Switch in an HP 9000, 10000, or 11000 series rack, use a #2
Phillips screwdriver to secure both brackets to the vertical rails in the rack with six 10-32 screws,
and six alignment washers.
Position the square washers so that the two raised bumps face toward the rack rail, and fit into
opposite corners of the rack square hole (for the 9000, 10000, and 11000 series racks).
