Configuring user authentication

The User Authentication configuration view (the default view when you select the Authentication
Settings menu item) allows you to configure authentication settings for users of the product's
embedded management interfaces and the CLI. The view has the following parts:
Existing Users—A list of the user names currently configured for the product, which is
documented in
User Properties—An interface used to configure the properties of the user name, which is
documented in
Authentication Settings—An interface used to configure the authentication settings used for the
(web) interface and the CLI, which is documented in

Adding, editing, and deleting user names

To add, edit and delete user names, use the Existing Users area of the Users Authentication view.
Select Security > Authentication Settings on the navigation panel, and then select the Users tab.
The Users Authentication configuration views is displayed.
Use the view to perform the following tasks:
Add a user name by selecting New. Use the User Properties area to configure settings for the
user name, as described in
Edit a user name by selecting the user name from the list, and then select the Edit button. Use the
User Properties area to configure settings for the user name, as described in
properties" on page 95.
Delete a user name by selecting the user name from the list, and then select Delete.
NOTE:
You cannot delete the last user name that is currently logged in with the role of
Administrator and is making the authentication changes.

Defining user properties

To configure the properties of user names, use the User Properties area of the Users Authentication
page.
Select Security > Authentication Settings on the navigation panel, and then select the Users tab.
The Users Authentication configuration view is displayed.
The User Properties panel becomes active when a user name is added or edited as described in
