Diagnostic Interrupts
Overview
Internal errors, external errors and external channel errors are indicated to an
interrupt-capable system by means of diagnostic interrupts (see diagnostic
interrupt data in Table 11-4, ). This presupposes that the diagnostic interrupt
message was activated at the time of configuration (see Chapter 5.2). If the
system is not interrupt-capable, the diagnostic interrupt information must be
read out cyclically with FC 6.
The diagnostic interrupts are identified by setting the corresponding byte bit
number in the data set (see diagnostic interrupt data, Section 6.4) and com-
prise the signals for all three channels.

The operator control errors in the "external channel error" class are specified
again, and are stored in data set 164/199/234 or in the diagnostic buffer.
The FM 453 signals a diagnostic interrupt "incoming" or "outgoing."
