Configuring A Manual Virtual Interface - Avaya 8800 Configuration Manual

Prerequisites
To enable automatic virtual links on a VRF instance, first select the appropriate instance.
The VRF instance must have an RP trigger of OSPF.
Procedure steps
1. In the navigation tree, open the following folders: Configuration > IP.
2. Click OSPF.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Click AutoVirtLinkEnable.
5. Click Apply.

Configuring a manual virtual interface

Use manual virtual links (interfaces) to provide a backup link for vital OSPF traffic with a
minimum of resource use.
Prerequisites
• OSPF is globally enabled.
• To configure a manual virtual interface on a VRF instance, first select the appropriate
instance. The VRF instance must have an RP trigger of OSPF.
Procedure steps
1. In the navigation tree, open the following folders: Configuration > IP.
2. Click OSPF.
3. Click the Virtual If tab.
4. Click Insert.
Configuration — OSPF and RIP
By default, this feature is disabled, and virtual links are not automatically created.
