Configuration — OSPF and RIP
Field
Indicates the type of device.
Indicates the LS type-specific parameter that contains a
unique identifier; it identifies the piece of the routing domain
that is described by the advertisement.
Indicates the address for the OSPF router.
Indicates the autonomous system external (ASE) link
type.
Indicates the Ethernet metric for the speed where Metric =
10^8 / ifSpeed
The Network type (bit rate) and related metrics are
• less than or equal to 100 Mbit/s is the metric of 1
• Ethernet/802.3 is the metric of 10
• E1 is the metric of 48
• T1 (ESF) is the metric of 65
• 64 Kb/s is the metric of 1562
• 56 Kb/s is the metric of 1785
• 19.2 Kb/s is the metric of 5208
• 9.6 Kb/s is the metric of 10 416
Indicates the ASE link address.
Indicates the age in seconds of the link-state
advertisement.
Indicates the sequence number as a signed 32-bit integer.
Itdetects old and duplicate link-state advertisements. The
space ofsequence numbers is linearly ordered. The larger
the sequence numberthe more recent the advertisement.
Indicates the checksum of the complete contents of the
advertisement, except the age parameter. The age
parameter is excepted so that the advertisement age
increments without updating the checksum. The checksum
is the same that is used for ISO connectionless datagrams.
It is commonly referred to as the Fletcher checksum.
