Configuring an OSPF area virtual interface
Use manual virtual links (interfaces) to provide a backup link for vital OSPF traffic minimal
resource use.
Both sides of the OSPF connection must use the same authentication type and key.
You cannot configure a virtual link using a stub area or an NSSA.
You configure OSPF on a VRF the same way you configure for the GlobalRouter, except that
you must replace config ip with config ip vrf <vrfName> in the following procedure.
The VRF must have an RP Trigger of OSPF. Not all parameters are configurable on non0
VRFs.
Prerequisites
• OSPF is globally enabled.
• An area is configured

Variable
Specifies the IP address of the OSPF router.
<vrfName>
config ip ospf area <ipaddr> virtual-interface <nbr> create
<nbr> is the OSPF router ID of the neighbor in IP address format.
