Viewing the external link-state database

View the external link-state database to determine externally learned routing information.
Prerequisites
To view the external LSD on a VRF instance, first select the appropriate instance. The VRF
instance must have an RP trigger of OSPF.
Procedure steps
1. In the navigation tree, open the following folders: Configuration > IP.
2. Click OSPF.
3. Click the Ext. Link State DB tab.
Variable definitions
Use the data in the following table to help you understand the external OSPF LSD
parameters.

Configuration — OSPF and RIP
Variable
Specifies the OSPF interface type. Broadcast LANs, such
as Ethernet and IEEE 802.5, use broadcast; X.25 and
similar technologies use NBMA; and point to point links use
pointToPoint.
Identifies the piece of the routing domain that is described
by the advertisement.
Identifies the router in the autonomous system.
Identifies old and duplicate link-state advertisements.
Identifies the age in seconds of the link-state
advertisement.
Contains the checksum of the complete contents of the
advertisement, except for the age parameter. The age
parameter is not included so that advertisement age
increments without updating the checksum.
