Changing an OSPF interface type
Change the interface type to designate the interface as either passive, NonBroadcast Multiple
Access, or broadcast.
Prerequisites
• OSPF is globally enabled.
• The interface is assigned an IP address.
• If the interface is currently an NBMA interface with manually configured neighbors, you
must first delete all manually configured neighbors. For more information, see
OSPF neighbors
• To change the interface type on a VRF instance, first select the appropriate instance. The
VRF instance must have an RP trigger of OSPF.
Procedure steps
1. In the navigation tree, open the following folders: Configuration > IP.
2. Click OSPF.
3. Click the Interfaces tab.
4. To disable the interface, from the AdminStat list, select disabled.
5. Click Apply.
6. To change the interface type, in the Type box, choose the new interface type
7. Click Apply.
8. To enable the interface, click in the AdminStat box, and then choose enabled from
