1 INVENTORY OF MATERIALS

This manual provides all of the mechanical and electrical information required for the installation of the
G3X system. This manual is intended to be a step-by-step guide to the installation, therefore it is important
that the steps in all sections be performed in order. All materials that are required/optional for the
installation of the G3X are listed in this section (as such, some of the information in this section is repeated
in following sections).
Before beginning the G3X installation, it is recommended that the installer perform a complete inventory
of all materials listed in this section (some materials are optional and may not be applicable to the
installation). Section 1 should be used to verify that all components ordered from Garmin have been
delivered correctly, and to identify any required materials that are not provided by Garmin.

1.1 Unpacking Unit

Carefully unpack the equipment and make a visual inspection of all contents for evidence of damage
incurred during shipment. If any component of the G3X is damaged, notify the carrier and file a claim. To
justify a claim, save the original shipping container and all packing materials. Do not return any
equipment to Garmin until the carrier has authorized the claim.
Retain the original shipping containers for storage. If the original containers are not available, a separate
cardboard container should be prepared that is large enough to accommodate sufficient packing material to
prevent movement.

1.2 Required Garmin Equipment

1.2.1 Garmin LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) List for GDU 37X/46X systems
NOTE
The G3X LRU Kit w/GSU 25, no EIS (Table 1-1) is intended for customers who have
previously purchased only a GDU 37X or 46X display. This kit includes the LRUs
needed to complete a G3X system installation (does not include connector/installation
kits listed in Table
