7.11.4.3 Resetting the ECR

What can be done?
While manually changing the zoom/focus setting of the projector lens, the ECR dimmer can change position as well. By resetting
the ECR, the mechanical dimmer of the projector and the mechanical dimmer of the projection lens will go to their reference position
first (i.e. calibration) and then go back to the desired position.
How to reset the ECR?
1. Press the MENU key to activate the Menu bar
2. Push the cursor key ← or → to highlight Service in the menubar
3. Push the ↓ key to pull down the Service menu
4. Push the cursor key ↑ or ↓ to highlight Dimming
5. Push the → key to pull down the Dimming menu
6. Push the cursor key ↑ or ↓ to select Reset ECR and press ENTER to select.

The ECR dimmers will go to their reference positions first and then back to the desired value. This may take a few seconds.

ECR dimmer
Extended Contrast Ratio dimmer: this is a mechanical dimmer which cuts off a part of the light beam to reduce the
light output. This way of dimming increases the contrast.
This feature is only available if the projector has the Night Vision option: the menu item will be greyed out if
this option is not present.
