Configuring ATM F5-OAM End-to-End Loopback

A Passport 8672ATME Module, by default, replies to ATM F5-OAM Loopback
requests received. However, the transmission of F5-OAM Loopback requests and
the processing of F5-OAM Loopback replies received require enabling this
feature on a PVC by PVC basis. It is recommended that you enable ATM
F5-OAM on all the PVCs configured on the PP8672 ATM port in order for upper
layer protocols such as MLT and OSPF to be immediately aware of the port down
status or link failures.
You can enable and define the parameters of the ATM F5-OAM Loopback feature
and display statistics with Device Manager or the CLI. For information on how to
configure this feature with the Device Manager, see
Passport 8672ATME Module with Device Manager," on page
The F5-OAM loopback feature uses the following CLI commands:
config atm pvc f5-oam command
show ports info atm pvc [slot/port]
show ports info atm f5-oam [slot/port]
clear atm f5-oam [slot/port]
