Insert the expansion card or the PCI card holder into the connector of the PCI
slot firmly, and rotate the retention latch to the down position to lock.
For slot 1 through 4, install the PCI card holder. Rotate the PCI card holder cover and the
retention latch to the down position, and slide down the PCI card holder handle.

Attach the top cover.
Removing expansion cards
To remove the expansion card, simply reverse the installation procedure.
6.5.4 How to Replace Expansion Cards in Hot-Pluggable
PCI Slots
PCI slot 1 through 4 on this server support PCI Hot Plug (PHP) function. With this function, when
expansion cards are damaged, you can replace the cards without turning off this server and connected
devices. This section describes how to replace expansion cards by using PHP function.
Always contact an office listed in the "Contact Information" of "Start Guide" to replace expansion cards
by using PHP function.
This operation is only available when the OS is Windows Server 2003. Note that, if it is performed
under another OS, the system may go down.
Hot plug may not be supported depending on applications. Check if it is supported in advance.

Disconnect the failed expansion card on OS.
1. Click the "Unplug/Eject" icon in the taskbar at the right-bottom corner of the
desktop.
The "Unplug or Eject Hardware" wizard appears.
2. Click [Stop].
3. Select the expansion card to be removed and click [OK].
A message appears saying that the expansion card has been disconnected, and the card can
be removed.
