Image quality problems

If you follow the steps below and do not resolve the problem, contact your Muratec dealer.
Symptom
Print quality is faint
(smudged, unclear)
White or black spots appear

Black stripes or smudges ap-
pear.

Cause
The paper is damp.
The contrast setting is incorrect.
The drum cartridge is worn out or
broken.
The toner bottle is running low.
Is the original document yellow or
green?
Is paper other than that specified in
this manual?
You are using the wrong type of pa-
per.
The drum cartridge is worn out or
broken.
The platen cover plate or cover pad
is dirty.
The ADF glass in the ADF or the
document feeder roller is dirty.
There is dirt on the paper feeder
route.
The drum cartridge is worn out or
broken.
The paper is damp.
You are using the wrong type of pa-
per.
The platen cover plate or cover pad
is dirty.
Countermeasure
Replace with a new paper.
Set correctly.
Replace with a new drum cartridge.
Replace with a new toner bottle.
If you are the recipient, ask the
sender to change the document to a
black color. (We recommend making
a copy.)
Use the paper specified in this man-
ual.
Use the right type of paper.
Replace with a new drum cartridge.
Clean the platen cover plate or
cover pad.
Clean the ADF glass and document
feeder roller.
Make a few test copies.
Replace with a new drum cartridge.
