Valves and Valve Seats
Inspecting the valve
Coat the valve face lightly with red lead. Use the
Valve lapper to inspect the valve contact with its seat.
If the contact is not uniform, or if the valve is defec-
tive, or if the repair limit is exceeded, repair or replace
the valve and valve seat.
NOTE! Inspect the valve face after the inspection or
replacement of the valve guide.
NOTE! When you press the valve coated with red
lead into the valve seat, do not rotate the valve.
