4. Align the flange section of the plunger properly
with the plunger seating section of the pinion
using a screwdriver.
5. Press down the handle of the spring compression
jib to insert the plunger into the plunger seating
section of the pinion, then screw the plunger
spring retaining jig into the upper end of the plung-
er.
Installing the control rack
1. Insert the control rack in the pump case, making
sure the "F" mark on the end surface or the
threaded section is positioned on the driven side,
then tighten the set screw to 21 Nom (2.1 kgf-m) [
15 lbf-ft].
2. Install the rack setting jig in the threaded hole at
the tip of the counter-drive side of the rack. In this
step, visually check and make sure the wide tooth
(three times wider than other teeth, provided for
correct meshing with the pinion) on the rack is
positioned at the center of the pump case cylin-
der.
