Updating Firmware

A firmware update can be triggered in three different ways:
Manual upgrade through the phone
Scheduled upgrade using either a relative time interval or absolute time
specified in the configuration file
Checksync upgrade initiated by a checksync notify SIP message from the
IP-PBX Server the gateway is registered to
A scheduled firmware update will only take affect if the software found on the
boot server is different than what is found running on the gateway and
handset. Software can be downgraded as well as upgraded.
To upgrade the firmware manually:
1. Press the OK key, then select Settings > System Settings.
2. Enter the PIN code (the default value is 456).
3. Select Firmware Update.
4. Select the current version.
5. Select English.
The Update System prompt appears.
6. Select Yes.
The firmware is updated on the phone.
To schedule a firmware update:
Method 1: For Relative Time
1. In the configuration file, make the following changes:
Enable scheduled firmware updates.

Configure the polling mode in the configuration file to "relative to

boot".
%FWU_POLLING_MODE%:1
Configure the number of seconds from the boot-up that you want to

schedule an update.
%FWU_POLLING_PERIOD%:86400
2. Reset the gateway to make the new configuration values take effect.
