Method 2: Configuring Call Groups and Default Line using the
Configuration File
Record each handset IPEI (International Portable Equipment Identity)

by pressing the Ok key, then selecting Settings > Handset ID.

This handset ID will be used to specify which handsets can connect to
the gateway.
In the configuration file, enable the IPEI matching.

This enables the specific handset identified with the IPEI to connect to
the gateway.
In the configuration file, define the Handset ID to a specific

Set the default line type to VOIP for the handset.

You can set a shared four digit access code to secure handset registration to
your gateway. This is also useful if you are setting up multiple gateways and
want to avoid having handsets incorrectly register to a nearby gateway.
