When creating or editing the configuration file, use a standard text editing tool (like
NotePad). XML editors, Microsoft Word, and other types of editors may leave
extended characters that are hidden. These hidden characters will cause issues
with the SoundPoint IP 200W gateway.
3. (Optional) Do the following steps to encrypt the configuration file:
Open a DOS prompt and change directory where your configuration

files are stored.
Enter the following command:

Endencryptfiles <MAC-address> e
For example, if you have a configuration file 00087b030999.cfg, enter:
Endencryptfiles 00087b030999 e
An encrypted configuration file 00087b030999.cry will be produced
4. Store the configuration file on a local web server or TFTP server in a
sub-folder named /Config .
For example:
<tftp-root>/Config
<web-root>/Config
5. If you are using a DHCP network:
— Use the SoundPoint IP 200W handset to find the IP address of the
gateway.
While the SoundPoint IP 200W handset shows the idle display, press
the Volume Up key to access the System Status menu.
6. Enter the IP address of the gateway into the address field of a web
browser connected to the same network as the SoundPoint IP 200W.
For example: http://192.168.0.1
The default login name is "Polycom" and the default password is "456".
7. Select System Settings in the sidebar.
8. Under the management server section, select the management transfer
protocol and then select TFTP or HTTP.
9. Enter the IP address or hostname of the boot server as the firmware
server address.
