Syntax of Configuration File

This appendix provides detailed descriptions of the configuration files used by
the SoundPoint IP 200W phone. It is a reference for all parameters that are
configurable when using the centralized provisioning installation model.
The configuration files dictates the behavior of the phone once it is running the
executable specified in the configuration file.
This appendix provides information on all of the configuration parameters
and their format.
Configuration files should only be modified by a knowledgeable system
administrator. Applying incorrect parameters may render the phone unusable. The
configuration files which accompany a specific release of the SIP software must be
used together with that software. Failure to do this may render the phone unusable.
The configuration file is built up with one configuration parameter per text
line. Each parameter is defined by a name and a value:
%<parameter name>% : <value>
The <parameter name> is a text string without spaces.
The <value> can be a null-terminated string, a decimal or hexidecimal-value
or an array of hexidecimal/decimal values.
Two forward slashes can be used to indicate a comment in the configuration
file.
The phone will replace those parameters that are represented in the
configuration file. This means that only a subset of the parameters can be
included in the configuration file. Any parameters unknown to the phone will
be discarded. A configuration file can be a maximum of 20KB in size.
