Slide the rack all the way to the righl
Install the pinion shaft grommet, and insert the pin
i o n s h a f t u p t h r o u g h t h e b u l k h e a d .
NOTE| Align the notch in the pinion shaft grommet
w i t h t h e t a b o n t h e g e a r h o u s i n g .

Install the mounting brackets with the two gearbox
m o u n t i n g b o l t s o n t h e c u s h i o n .
NOTE: The arrow on the bracket
point toward the front.

I n s t a l l t h e s t i f f e n e r p l a t e w i t h t h e t w o g e a r b o x
mounting bolts and stiffener plate attaching bolts.
N O T E r I n s t a l l t h e b o l t s l o o s e l y f i r s t . t h e n t i g h t e n
them securely.

Center the steering rack within its stroke

Slip the lower end ot the steering joint onto the pin
i o n s h a f t ( l i n e u p t h e b o l t h o l e w i t h t h e g r o o v e
around the shaft), and tighten the lower bolt.
NOTE:
. Connect the steering shaft and pinion with the
steering wheel and steering rack centered
B e s u r e t h a t t h e l o w e r s t e e r i n g j o i n t b o l t i s
s e c u r e l y i n t h e g r o o v e i n t h e s t e e r i n g g e a r b o x
p i n i o n .
lf the steering wheel and rack are not centered,
r e p o s i t i o n t h e s e r r a t i o n s a t l o w e r e n d o f t h e
steering ioint.
