Tool What it is
Array Diagnostics A Windows-based tool designed to run
Utility (ADU) on all Compaq systems that support
Compaq array controllers. Two main
functions of ADU are to collect all
possible information about the array
controllers in the system and generate a
list of detected problems.
The tool is available for all Compaq
servers covered by this guide.
Drive Array The predecessor to ADU, DAAD is a tool
Advanced based on the disk operating system
Diagnostics (DOS) for Compaq servers with Smart
Array Controllers. DAAD collects
information about the array controllers in
the system and offers a list of detected
problems.
Integrated A log of system events, such as system
Management Log failures or nonfatal error conditions.
View events in the Integrated
Management Log
I On the Integrated Management
I From within Compaq Insight
I From within Compaq Survey Utility
System Utility to easily configure the hardware
Configuration Utility installed in or connected to the server.
Specifically, it can
I Resolve resource conflicts in areas
I Configure PCI boards automatically

I Manage installation of memory,
I Store configuration information in
I Assist in installation of an operating
I Assist in running diagnostic tools,

chapter.

The Integrated Management Log
requires Compaq operating
system-dependent drivers. Refer to
Compaq Support Software CD for
instructions on installing the appropriate
drivers.
If the server has bootable CD-ROM drive,
run Compaq System Configuration Utility
directly from Support Software CD
supplied with SMART Controller Option
Kit or SmartStart and Support
Software CD supplied with server. Use
the CD supplied for the latest version
supporting the SMART Controller.
If the server does not have a bootable
CD-ROM drive, create diskettes with
latest version of the System
Configuration Utility from Support
Software CD or SmartStart and Support
Software CD.
