700 Series Monochrome Mobile Computer User's Manual
To configure 802.11b communications on the 700 Series Computer, tap
Start → Settings → the System tab → the Wireless Network icon to
access the Profile Wizard for the 802.11b radio module. The Profile
Wizard defaults to the Profile page.
This information pertains to 700 Monochrome Computers without a se-
curity network package installed. This package is available from Intermec
Technologies Corporation. Contact your Intermec representative for more
information.
If your 700 Monochrome Computer does include a security network
package, go to page 345 for applicable information.
Use this page to add, edit, or delete up to three networking environments
for this 802.11b radio. Tap a question mark for assistance with any of
these fields. To add a profile from this screen, select the appropriate Active
Radio Profile near the bottom of the screen, then do the following;
1 Enter the network name or SSID (up to 32 alphanumeric characters) in
the Desired SSID field. If you do not know this information, contact your
system administrator.
2 Enter the WEP Key field either in ASCII or hexadecimal format. WEP
(Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption keys are only needed if they are
expected by your clients. There are two types available: 64-bit (5-char-
acter strings, 12345) (default) and 128-bit (13-character strings,
1234567890123). These can be entered as either ASCII (12345) or
Hex (0x3132333435).
3 Tap the Encryption State drop-down list to enable or disable the en-
cryption for this profile.
4 If needed, clear the Enable Power Management box.
