    Chapter 1 — About Intermec Connection Manager About Intermec Connection Manager The Intermec Connection Manager is a software application and API interface that provides seamless network roaming for Intermec mobile computers. Intermec Connection Manager works in the background to establish and maintain connections automatically. When a network changes status, a message is sent to all applications that are connected to Intermec Connection Manager’s API.

Once you have established a connection between your host PC and your mobile computer, you are able to install Intermec Connection Manager. To install Intermec Connection Manager using ActiveSync 1 Insert the installation CD into your PC and double-click on the installation file.

    Chapter 2 — Using Intermec Connection Manager Learning About the Intermec Connection Manager Icon After you have installed Intermec Connection Manager, an icon appears in the system tray. This icon provides access to the Intermec Connection Manager settings menu and also displays the status of Intermec Connection Manager.

    After you have installed Intermec Connection Manager, you are able to access the settings menu from the icon in the system tray. From the system tray, you are able to configure Intermec Connection Manager, apply registry settings, and check your Ethernet settings.

    Ping Destination is used with the Keepalive Interval. The destination can be a static IP or DNS address. If the Ping Destination is left blank, Intermec Connection Manager will use the IP address of the gateway to which it is attached.

    ItcCnMgr.log is started. ItcCnMgr2.log is overwritten each time ItcCnMgr.log reaches 1 MB. Intermec Connection Manager has 5 levels of logging, with 5 being the highest. The higher the level is set, the more detail you will receive in your log. The default is 1.

    Refer to your mobile computer’s user’s manual for more information. To enable roaming 1 Tap on the Intermec Connection Manager icon in the system tray. The Intermec Connection Manager menu appears. 2 Choose Enable Roaming. Once roaming is enabled, an icon will be displayed in the system tray indicating what type of connection you are currently using.
