FST Registers window – Advanced parameters
Parameter
Description
Timer
Countdown timers used to signal that a certain period has

elapsed. To use, specify the number of 100-millisecond periods
that each timer will start with. When a 100-millisecond period
has elapsed, the timers are decremented by 1.
Misc
Provides global storage space for unsigned 8-bit integers (0 to
#1 – 4
255). Specify startup values as required. These values can be
changed by the FST.
Execution Delay
Specifies the number of seconds to delay betwen FST steps.
Result Register
Displays the floating-point result from the most recent FST
command.
Compare Flag
Displays an integer value used by the FST's logic functions.
Mesg
Enter a string (30 characters maximum) for any FST message.

Code Size
Displays the number of bytes used by the FST.
Code Pointer
Displays the offset of the next function to be executed. The
Byte
offset is calculated from the beginning of the function's memory
segment.
Step 4
Compile the FST
When you compile an FST, it is converted into executable form. To compile an FST, click the
button on the FST Editor toolbar, or click
Compile
The results of the compile are displayed in the Output field at the bottom of the workspace. If an error
occurs during the compile process, the Output field lists the error type, and the cell in which the error
occurred is displayed in red.
Step 5
Download the FST
When the FST has compiled without errors, download it to the Model 3711 by clicking the
button on the FST Editor toolbar, or by clicking
During the download, you will be prompted to specify a version number and a description for the
FST.
After the download, a prompt will be displayed allowing you to start the FST if desired.
Step 6
Save the FST to a file
Although not required, Micro Motion recommends that you save all FSTs to a file on the PC. To save
an FST, click the
Editor menu. Then specify the name and location of the file, using the .FST extension.
