Removing a 2.5-inch HDD/PCIe backplane
The following description is valid for:
– An HDD backplane
– A PCIe backplane
Configurations with up to four 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs, there is one HDD
backplane. Configurations with up to eight 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs, there
are either two HDD backplanes or one PCIe backplane (backplane 1)
and one HDD backplane (backplane 2).
▶ If there are two backplanes, locate the defective backplane.
▶ If applicable, disconnect all cables from the backplane(s).
