Fiber cleaning

Follow this by folding an unused portion of the cloth over the end of the ferrule endface
and then with light pressure from the thumb, slightly drag the cloth from the center of the
ferrule to the edge while rotating the connector 360 degrees. If the Luminex cleaning cloth
is not available, a lint free cleanroom optic wipe can be used. The Luminex cleaning cloth
is washable and can be used multiple times, optic wipes are single use and disposable.

Connector inspection
After cleaning the connector, inspect the ferrule endface to ensure that it is free from any
particulate contamination using an optical fiber inspection scope of at least 200X
magnification. When using an optical fiber scope (for example, the Noyes OFS 300-200X)
exercise extreme caution to assure fiber being examined is de-energized.
