8 Converting an Avaya S8300 Media Server Between ICC and LSP Modes
Task
Steps/Comments
Assess the impact of the ICC to LSP
conversion on all voice and voice
messaging network nodes. Plan for any
necessary changes to network elements.
In particular, collect the server
configuration information for the new LSP;
that is, host name and IP address, primary
controller IP address(es), DNS/DHCP IP
addresses (if used), UPS IP addresses (if
used), static routes data (if used), time
server data, modem return route data (if
supported by Avaya Services).
Go to http://rfa.avaya.com and follow the
steps in
Converting between an ICC and
LSP
(or a similar region-specific document
if the system is outside the U.S.) to create
new license and authentication files for the
LSP.
If the new primary controller that will
support the LSP is being migrated to
Communication Manager 2.x, you need to
create a new license file for the primary
controller.
If you are upgrading software from certain
releases of Communication Manager, you may
need to obtain a pre-upgrade service pack (see
Pre-upgrade service pack requirements
page 10).
If you are upgrading an S8300A to software
release 2.1 or later, you will have to replace the
S8300A with an S8300B Media Server.
