TROUBLESHOOTING
When the main switch is turned to "ON", the immobilizer system indicator light does not come on nor
flashes.
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, ignition, and backup)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSES"
on page 8-180.

2. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 8-181.

3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-177.

4. Check the entire immobilizer sys-
tem wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM" on
page 8-109.

• Check the condition of the each im-
mobilizer system circuits.
• Refer to "SELF-DIAGNOSIS FAULT

SELF-DIAGNOSIS FAULT CODE INDICATION
When a system malfunction occurs, the fault code number is indicated in the meter display and the im-
mobilizer system indicator light flashes at the same time. The pattern of flashing also shows the fault
code.

Replace the fuse(s).
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
Replace the main switch/immobilizer unit.
Properly connect or repair the immobilizer
system wiring.
Cause
1. Radio wave interfer-
ence caused by objects
around the keys and
antennas.
2. Immobilizer unit mal-
function.
3. Key malfunction.
1. Signal received from
other transponder
(failed to recognize
code after ten consecu-
tive attempts).
2. Signal received from
unregistered standard
key.
Action
1. Keep magnets,
metal objects, and
other immobilizer
system keys away
from the keys and
antennas.
2. Replace the main
switch/immobi-
lizer unit.
3. Replace the key.
1. Place the immobi-
lizer unit at least
50 mm away from
the transponder of
other vehicles.
2. Register the stan-
dard key.
