(4) Sleep mode, scanner motor time-out time
check and set
The above values can be set to the desired values.

Select TIMEOUT SET XXX with the MENU key.
Use the v key and the w key to select the desired mode of the sleep
mode time-out or the scanner motor time-out mode.
After selecting the mode, press the ENTER (SET) key to display the
time-out time.
Under this state, press the RESET key to return to the time-pout kind
selection mode.
When the time-out time is displayed, use the v key and the w key to
change the time-out time.
To register the changed time-out time, press the FORM FEED
(PAPER EXIT) key.
Immediately after the time-out time is changed, the display returns to
the time-out time kind selection mode.

After completion of printing or warming up, and after stopping the main motor before the next print command from the host is received, if the above
set time is past, the printer shifts to the sleep mode and the scanning
motor automatically.

b. Details
With "PANEL KEY TEST" displayed, turn on the manual paper feed
detector and press the FORM FEED (PAPER EXIT) key at the same
time.
Then the display is changed to the display shown below, allowing the
operation check of the operation panel key.
When each key is pressed, "?" mark at the right of the corresponding
number is changed to "←."
If the above operation is not made, the operation of the key is abnor-
mal.

After normal completion of checking all keys, the display shows the
date (as shown below) for several seconds and returns to the
PANEL KEY TEST home position.

To cancel the diagnostics, in this case, turn off the power. (There is
no other way.)
