3. Servicing for troubles related to
memory and replacement of PCU PWB
A. Outline
The CPU (NV-RAM) in PCU PWB stores various set values, adjust-
ment values, control data, counter values, etc. This data are required
for operating the printer engine normally. In the following cases, the
data must be set again.
* When replacing the PCU PWB.
* When replacing the CPU (NV-RAM) in PCU PWB
* When a memory trouble occurs (SERVICE P2/P3).
(In this case, the data in memory may be destroyed.)
B. Remedies
(1) Initialize the NV-RAM.
(2) Set the reference toner concentration level.
(3) Perform the print quality (process) correction.
1) Turn OFF and ON the power and wait until the machine reaches
the ready state for printing.
(After warming up, the print quality (process) correction is performed
and the necessary data for print quality control are written into
memory.)
(Note)
* If normal color print is not obtained, replace the developing unit.
NOTE: To carry out the above procedure efficiently, the control data
should be recorded after servicing, using a Diag.
