Chapter 1. The Lenovo Converged HX Series server

This publication contains information and instructions for setting up your Lenovo Converged HX Series
Type 8693 server, instructions for cabling and configuring the server, removing and replacing devices,
and diagnostics and troubleshooting information.
The Lenovo Converged HX Series Type 8693 server is a 1-U-high
HX Series models.
The HX1310, model type AC1, contains a single processor and is most suited for remote office branch
office (ROBO) deployments.
The HX3310, model type AC2, is most suited for compute-heavy virtualized workloads such as virtual
desktop infrastructure (VDI). The all flash version named the HX3310-F, model type AC3 provides even
greater IO performance for the most demanding of virtualized workloads.
All three of these models shown below contain eight 2.5-inch drives with either two SSDs and six HDDs or
eight SSDs for the HX3310-F.

The HX2310-E, model type ACA, contains special licensing and is best suited to small to medium business
(SMB) environments where a single cluster of up to 4 nodes is sufficient.
The HX2310-E models as shown below contain seven 2.5-inch drives with one SSD and six HDDs.
