_ Burnt commutator
_ Layer short-circuit of armature
_ Crankshaft rotation obstructed
If battery and wiring are satisfactory,
inspect starting motor
_ Insufficient contact of magnetic switch
main contacts
_ Layer short-circuit of armature
_ Disconnected, burnt or worn commutator
_ Worn brushes
_ Weakened brush springs
_ Burnt or abnormally worn end bush
_ Worn pinion tip
_ Poor sliding of over-running clutch
_ Over-running clutch slipping
_ Worn teeth of ring gear
_ Abnormally worn bush
_ Worn pinion or worn teeth of ring gear
_ Poor sliding of pinion (failure in return
movement)
_ Worn internal or planetary gear teeth
_ Lack of oil in each part
_ Fused contact points of magnetic switch
_ Short-circuit between turns of magnetic
switch coil (layer short-circuit)
_ Failure of returning action in ignition
