2. Troubleshooting When Using the Copy/Document Server Function
Problem
Copies are too light.

Causes
Image density is too light.
A light copy may result when
you use damp or rough grain
paper.
The toner cartridge is almost
empty.
The original is not set
correctly.
The correct paper size is not
selected.
Even if you place originals on
the exposure glass, or ADF
correctly, margin of a few
millimeters on all four sides of
the original might not be
copied.
The paper is damp.
The exposure glass, scanning
glass, or ADF is dirty.
Solutions
Adjust the image density settings. See

• Use recommended paper only. For
details about recommended

• Use paper that has been stored in
the recommended temperature
and humidity conditions. For
