The
FR
-3x
can play back audio
files in
the
mp3
and WAV formats directly
from
a
USB
memory
you
connect
to
its
USB
port. Sel" "Abaut audio

on p. 70
for
a
description
of the
supported
file types.
Copying audio files to a USB
memory
Be
fare
being able
to pla
y
ba
ck audio
(mp3
or WAV) on
the FR-3 x,
you
must
first
copy
them
fro
m
your com-
puter's
hard disk
to
a
USB
memory
that can be con-
nected
to the FR-3x.
Copyyour audio files to
the root level.

Be aware
tha
t th
e
FR-3x can only play
back
files
located
in
the
USB mem
ory's root directory
(i.e.
on
the
sa me
level
as
any folders
the
USB
memory may contain).
Never copy
aud
io files
to
a folder if you
wish
to
be able
to
play
them
back
on the FR-3
x.
Tip for naming audio files
The
FR
-3x only
displays
the
first three
characters
of
the
audio
file
names.
If the
USB memory
contains severai
files whose
first
th
ree characters
are
the same,
we
rec-
olllill
end renaming
those
files
on
yo ur
computer
by
ad ding a
num
ber
to
their names.
Here
is an example
:

the

a file
named
"Ama
zin
g Grace.wav"
and another ane called
"Amazing. mp3",

Connecting an optional USB
memory
1.
Put the FR
-
3x down and turn it around.
2.
Unclip the cushion located between the tre
-
ble keyboard and the bellows to see the
FR-
3x's USB port.
The FR
-3x's
USB port
is located next
to the
battery
compartment.
3.
Press the two sides of the USB cOl11partment
cover (where it says "PRESS TO OPEN") and
pull the cover open.
The
compartment
apens, revealing the loca
tion
where
the USB memory needs
to
be
inserted.
4.
Insert an optional USB l11emory into the
port.
The
USB
Illemary
can
only be
connected
in ane
direc-
tion.
