Switching the power on and off
[NOTE]
Qnce the connections have been cOl11ple ted, turn on power to
VOLir various devices in the order specified. BV turn ing on
devices in the wrong order, VOll risk causing l 1 1 alfunction and!
or dal11age to speakers and other devices.
Turning on the power
1.
Turn the [VOL] knob all the way towards the
small dot to minimize the volume.
See "AclJusting t he vol ume ancl balance" on p. 22 . If
you connectecl the FR-3 x to an amp lifier, etc., se t its
vol ume to the minim um va lue as wel l.
2.
To switch the FR-3x on, press and hold
down its [POWER] button until the display
shows "Fr3".
The [POWER] button ligh ts.
[NOTE]
Th is unit is equipped wi th a protection circuit. A brief inter-
val (a few seconds) after power up is required before the
uni t will opera te norl11allv.
3.
Turn the [VOL] knob clockwise to set the
volume to an appropriate level.
4.
Adjust the volume of the receiving audio
device (if conn ected).

its vo lume to the minim um value as we ll.

Pre ss th e FR-3x's [POWER] button (its indi -
cator goes dark).
Using headphones
The FR-3x has one jack far plugging in headphones.
This allo ws vou to plav with out having to worrvabout
bothering others araund vou, even at night.

Plug th e hea dphones into the [PHONES] jack
located on the FR-3x' s conn ection panel.

Use stereo headphones. Pl ease use onlv Roland head-
phones. Headphones frol11 other l 1 1anufactu rers l11av be
unable to provide sufficien t volul11e.
[NOTE ]
The FR -3x's speakers are swi tched off when vou connect
headphones.

• To prevent clamage to the corcl' s internal concIlletors,
avoicl rough hanclling. When using heaclphones,
mainly try to han cl le either the plug or t he heaclset.
