Important notes
o
Use areasonable amount of care when using the unit's buttons,
sliders, or other controis; and when using its jacks and connecto rs.
Rough handling can lead to malfunctions.
o
When connecting / discon neeting all cables, grasp the co nnector
itself-never pull on the cable. This way you wi ll avoid causing
shorts, or elamage to the cable's internal elements.
o
To avoid elistu rbing your neighbors, try to kee p the unit's volume
at reasonable leve is. Vou may prefe r to use heaelphones,

not need to be concerned about those around you (especia lly
when it is late at nigh t).

When you need to transport the unit, package it in the box
(including padding) that it came in, if possible. Otherwise, you will
need to use equivalent pa ckaging materials.
o
Some connection cables contain resisto rs. Do not use cables that
incorporate resisto rs for connecting to this unit. Th e use of such
cables can cause the sound leve l to be extremel y low, or impossible
to hear. For information on cable specifications, contact the man-
ufacturer of the ca ble.
Battery handling
o
In correct handling of batte ries, recha rgeable batteries, or a battery
charger can ca use lea kage, overheating, fi re, or explosion. Before
use, you must reael and strictly obse rve all of the precautions that
accompany the batteries, rec hargeable ba tteries, or battery
charger. When using rechargeable ba tteries and a charger, use
only the combination of rech argea bl e batteries and clla rg er speci -
fied by the battery manufacturer.
Storage devices that can be connected to th e
FR-3x's USB port
o
The FR- 3x allows you to connect comme rciall y available USB
memories. Vou can purehase such clevices at a computer sto re, a
digital camera elealer, etc.
o
Use USB memory sold by Roland. We ca nnot guarantee opera ti on
if any other USB memory is used.
Before using extern al USB memo ri es
o
When connecting a USB memory, fi rml y insert it all the way into
the FR-3x's USB port.
o
Do not touch the pins of the FR-3x's USB port or allow them to
become dirty.
o
Wh il e using an externa l sto rage elevice, please obse rve the follow-
ing points when handling it:
o
To prevent elamage from sta tie electrica l cha rges, elischarge any
statie electricity that might be present in your boely before han-
elling a USB memory.
o
Do not touch the term inals witll your fingers or any metal
object.
o
Do not bend or elrop a USB memory, or subject it to strong
impa ct.
o
Do not leave a USB memory in direct sun ligh t or in locations
such as a closeel -up automobi le.
o
Do not allow a USB memory to become wet.
o
Do not disassemble or moelify your external USB memory.
o
When connecting a USB memory, position it horizontally with the
FR-3x's USB port and insert it without usin g excessive force. The
USB port may be damaged if you use excessive force when insert-
ing a USB memory.
o
Do not insert anything other than a USB memory (e.g., wire, coins,
othe r types of device) into the USB po rt. Doing

Do not apply excessive force to the con nected USB memory or the
FR-3x's USB port.
o
Never connect you r USB memory to the FR-3x via a USB hub .

righ t owner has granted you permission. Accordingly, the repro-
duction of music or other copyrighted material without perm is-

tures of seco nd- generation and la ter copying, like SCMS or other
