• DUAL/SOLO mode (register [8])
Pressing register [8] wh il e holding down [ORGAN/
ORCHESTRA] allows yo u to alterna te between DUAL
and SOLO modes. (After switching on the FR -3x,
pressing this register once se lects SOLO mod e.)
SOLO mode DUAL mode
In SOLO mode, the trebl e keyboard on ly plays the
selected accordion, orchestral or organ sound. DUAL
mode means that the orchestral or organ sound is
added to the treble accordion sound.
• LOW/HIGH mode (register [7])
Pressing regis ter [7] while holding down [ORG AN/
ORCHESTRA] alternates between HIGH an d LOW
modes.
HIGH mode LOW mode
If yo u selec t HIGH mode and play just one note, YOLi
hear the orchestral or organ sO LI nd. If YOLi keep hold-
ing th at key while pressing another (Iower) key to its
left, th e lower notes are played by the treble accor-
dion sOLInd. This is perfect for sitLi ations where YOLi
need to play chords and a solo line using different
so unds. Something li ke this:

LOW mode is the opposite of HIGH : notes above the
one whose key you are holding down are sounded by
th e accordion regis ter. This can be used in situations
where the melody (or cO Li nter-melody) lies above the
notes YO Li wish to hold.

You can change the volu ill e lever of the orehestrai or organ
sound to create the desiredlllix between the trebl e accor-
dion and the organ or orehestrai sound. See "Orchestra
Level" on p. 46 or "Organ Level " on p. 46.
Transposing the treble section in octave steps
Th e FR-3 x's treble keyboard has a maximLim range of 3
octaves. Th ere may be times, however, when YO Li need
to play higher or lower notes than the piano or button
keyboard allows. Unlike an acoustic accord ion, the
FR -3x allows yo u to transpose th e piano or bLitton key-
board one octave up or down.
An addi tio nal advantage of this functionality is that
yo u can play the selected orchestral or organ sOLind in a
different octave in DUAL mode (see "Sel ecting th e
ORGAN /ORCHESTRA mode" on p. 27) .

the [SEl] register and press treble register

If you hold down [SET] for Illore than 2 seconds without
pressing ano ther register, the FR-3x switches to PARAME -
TER Illod e. In that case, press [SET] again to leave that

(OCT +) .
The display briefly confirms YOLir setting:

No octave transposition
