FR3X/3XB System Update Version 1.05
This system program updates your FR3x / FR3xb to the latest version 1.05.
How to know the version
Please check the version of the system working on your FR3x / FR3xb before
downloading the archive file.
1. Press the right hand register [ 2 ] (JAZZ) while power on the
VAccordion.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already uptodate.

The following bug is fixed.
● System may hang up when loading VASE0xx Sound
expansion.
Items to prepare for the update
Following items are required to perform the update:
● FR3x / FR3xb itself
● USB Flash Memory ( Roland's MUF2G is recommended )
* The USB Flash Memory needs to be formatted on a FR3x / FR3xb.
● A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )
Cautions with the update
● Never apply this update data to any product other than the FR3x / FR3xb.
This update data may destroy the data or system program of other
products.
● Never poweroff your FR3x / FR3xb while the update is in progress!
● If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the

This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. ● We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document. How to update 1. Open/extract the downloaded file "fr3x_sys_v105.zip" on your computer to get the following content ( 1 folder and 4 files ). DATAROM (folder) a.rom PROGRAM startup update 2. Connect the USB flash memory to your computer 3. First delete all existing files and folders from the USB memory and then copy the above content (1 folder and 4 files) to the USB memory's root folder. 4. Disconnect the USB memory from your computer as follows: [ Windows ] Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to unmount the USB memory and then disconnect the USB memory from your computer. [ Mac ] Drag the Drive icon of the USB memory into the trash in the dock and then remove the USB memory from your computer. 5. After verifying that the FR3x / FR3xb power is off, plug the USB memory into the FR3x USB MEMORY port. 6. Turn the power on while pressing and holding the Treble register [1] and Treble register [2] until the message "Upd" appears on the display. 7. When update has successfully completed, an "End" message will appear on the display. Turn the FR3X power off and unplug the USB memory.
